A rotomoulded LLDPE sphericon that turns a straight push into a wobbling, multi-axis roll, for balance and gross-motor play.

Brief

Design a rotationally moulded product. Entered in the ARMSA 2025 student competition.

Idea

Most push toys only roll in one direction. A sphericon rolls in an oscillating path, which works balance and the vestibular system far more. The main hazard in free-rolling play objects is over-rolling, so the form has built-in stops and handles sized for a 3–5-year-old's grip.

Making

Surfaced in SolidWorks with uniform wall thickness for the rotomould, then proven as a 1:6 FDM model, filled, primed and spray-finished, and rolled in a scale room to check the path.
