A flat-packing stand that clips under a gas canister so a hiker's stove stays upright on rough ground. Laser-cut stainless, no coating.

Brief

The 5K project: design, brand and make a product that could sell, with a physical prototype, photography and a launch poster.

Product

Small gas stoves sit high on a narrow canister and tip over on uneven ground. The Argo clips three legs under the canister and spreads them to 120°. Folded, the legs stack on one pivot and lie flat in a pack.

Material

Most competing stands are injection-moulded plastic. The Argo is surgical-grade stainless steel, so it takes heat and load without warping, and it is left raw: stonewashed, no paint. The flat profile is the visual signature, and it is there because ultralight gear needs it.

Brand

Dead Reckon is aimed at hikers who want kit that works without apology: functional first, but deliberate enough to be a style choice. High-contrast colours (bone, olive, signal orange, blue, near-black) mean you won't lose it in the field.
